#TravelPost – Ronda, the spectacular city on the edge of a cliff

RO: In continuarea calatoriei prin Andaluzia, am pornit catre cea mai cautata destinatie din apropierea orasului Malaga. Este o asezare micuta, dar cu totul aparte, care fara indoiala se regaseste in topul celor mai spectaculoase orase construite pe stanci, si anume orasul Ronda.

  ENG: Following our journey through Andalusia, we headed to the most sought-after destination near Malaga. It is a small, but very special settlement, which is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular cities built on the rocks, namely the city of Ronda.

RO: Zona este strabatuta de Raul Guadalevin care formeaza un canion superb. Orasul a fost construit pana la marginea acestui canion, ceea ce iti permite sa te bucuri de un peisaj de vis.

  ENG: The area is crossed by Guadalevin River which forms a impressive canyon. The city was built up to the edge of this canyon, which allows you to enjoy a dreamy landscape.

RO: Acelasi rau taie orasul in doua, iar pentru a conectat ambele parti de-a lungul anilor au fost construite trei poduri, care cu siguranta sunt cele mai fotografiate structuri din oras. Puente Romano (Podul Roman), Puente Viejo (Podul Arab) si Puente Nuevo (Podul Nou), fiecare fiind numit dupa epoca istorica in care a fost construit, de catre neamurile straine care au stapanit orasul. Puente Nuevo este cel mai inalt dintre ele, se ridica la 120 de metri deasupra canionului si de pe suprafata lui, orasul arata fantastic, ofera cea mai frumoasa panorama.

  ENG: The same river cuts the city in two, and to connect both sides over the years have been built three bridges, which are certainly the most photographed structures in the city. Puente Romano, Puente Viejo (Arabian Bridge) and Puente Nuevo (New Bridge), each being named after the historical era in which they were built by the foreign nations who ruled the city. Puente Nuevo is the highest of them, it rises at 120 meters above the canyon and from its surface the city looks fantastic, it offers you the most beautiful panorama.

RO: Stiati ca aici, in Ronda, s-a nascut corida moderna?  Un toreador a schimbat modul de confruntare din arena si s-a decis sa nu mai lupte cu taurul de pe saua unui cal, ci sa coboare la nivelul animalului, aparat doar de capa trandafirie. Arena in care s-a desfasurat aceasta schimbare este arena din Muzeul Coridei din Ronda.

  ENG: Did you know that in Ronda was born the modern corrida? A toreador changed the way of confrontation in the arena, and decided not to fight the bull on a horse, but to go down an fight with the bull protected only by the red cloack. The arena in which this fight took place is the arena at the Bullfighting Museum in Ronda.

RO: Te poti pierde in plimbari indelungante pe stradutele inguste ale orasului vechi. Cu siguranta vei descoperi mici si mari comori, de la magazine cu suveniruri, cladiri muzeu si pana la portocali parca pictati de un artist uitat de timp.

  ENG: You can easily get lost in long walks along the narrow streets of the old town. You will surely discover small, priceless treasures, from souvenir shops, museum buildings or beautiful orange trees, that look like they were painted by an artist forgotten by time.

RO: Casele din oras sunt simple, varuite in alb, cu tigla rosie, ferestrele si usile sunt marcate de caramizi colorate, iar balcoanele mici sunt din fier. Este o caracteristica a localitatilor din zona, care sunt numite si Pueblos blancos, iar Ronda este o adevarata capitala a “satelor albe”.

  ENG: The houses are simple, white, with red tiles, only the windows and the doors are built with colored bricks, and the small balconies are made of iron. It is a particularity of the settlements in the area, which are also called Pueblos blancos, and Ronda is a true capital of the “white villages”.

#TravelPost – Malaga, the city of Picasso and of one-way traffic

RO: Inceputul de an 2018 a insemnat pentru mine o plimbare prin Andaluzia, regiunea de sud a Spaniei… ceea ce m-a inspirit sa redactez cateva randuri pentru un post de travel, care inseamna si un nou post dupa mult timp pe blog 😀

Au fost 7 zile pline, nu am stat locului deloc… dupa 3 zile in Malaga, am pornit cu masina spre Cadiz, cu un ocol prin Gibraltar si apoi inca 3 zile in Sevilia.

Start cu Malaga – Este un oras portuar scaldat de apele Marii Mediteraneene, deci o destinatie turistica populara. Prin centrul vechi, pe stradutele inguste, la terase si in apropierea celor mai importante obiective turistice poti auzi discutii in toate limbile Pamantului.

  ENG: The beginning of 2018 meant for me a walk through Andalusia, the southern region of Spain … this inspired me to write a few lines for a travel post, which also means a new post after a long time 😀

7 full days, on the road … after 3 days in Malaga, we drove to Cadiz, a short detour to Gibraltar and then another 3 days in Seville.

Start with Malaga – It is a port town bathed by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, a popular tourist destination. In the old city center, on the narrow streets, relaxing at terraces and near the most important landmarks, you can hear discussions in all the languages ​​of the Earth.

RO: Ca orice turist, am cautat cel mai scurt drum catre cele mai cautate obiective de vizitat. Dupa ce ne-am ratacit pe strazile lor cu foarte multe sensuri unice, am parcat langa Plaza de Toros, arena de coride, in care mai poti asista inca la cunoscutele si sangeroasele lupte cu tauri.

De acolo, am urcat spre Castelul Gibralfaro, care pe langa senzatie de calatorie inapoi in timp, iti ofera o panorama fenomenala asupra orasului si al portului.

  ENG: Like any other tourist, I’ve been looking for the shortest way to the most sought-after places to visit. After we got lost on their one-way streets, we parked near the Plaza de Toros, the corridor arena, where you can still witness the well-known and bloody battles with bulls.

From there, we climbed to Gibralfaro Castle, which, besides the sensation of traveling back in time, gives you a phenomenal panorama over the city and the harbor.

RO: Apoi, am coborat catre Cetatea Alcazaba care este conectata de castelul Gibralfaro printr-un lung zid dublu (coracha). Aici am descoperit gradini interioare de un verde minunat, iar arhitectura maura te ducea cu gandul la un palat pentru califi si sultani.

  ENG: Then we descended to the Alcazaba Fortress that is connected with Gibralfaro Castle through a long double wall (coracha). Here we have discovered interior gardens of a wonderful green, and the Moorish architecture that made you believe you were in a palace for caliphs and sultans.

RO: In partea stanga a intrarii principale in cetate, pe calle Acazabilla, se afla Teatro Romano, descoperit accidental in 1951 si reamenajat pentru a gazdui spectacole in aer liber. Scena era goala, dar se simtea o energie aparte, care te determina sa faci liniste, ca si cum pe scena se desfasura un spectacol important.

  ENG: On the left side of the main entrance to the fortress, on calle Acazabilla, you will find Teatro Romano, accidentally discovered in 1951 and refurbished to host outdoor shows. The scene was empty, but you could feel a  a special energy that made you go quiet, as if an important show unfolded on the stage.

RO: Ne-am pierdut pe strazile din zona turistica, am ajuns la Catedrala Malaga si a trecut pe langa multe alte cladiri impresionante 🙂

  ENG: We lost ourselves on the streets of the tourist area, we reached the Cathedral of Malaga and passed many other impressive buildings 🙂

RO: Seara am descoperit plaja ascunsa din spatele farulului de la intrarea in Portul Malaga, numit La Farola, adevarat simbol al orasului. Apusul a fost pretextul perfect pentru o sedinta foto 🙂

  ENG: In the evening we discovered a hidden beach behind the lighthouse in Malaga Port, called La Farola, the true symbol of the city. The sunset was the perfect excuse for a photo shoot 🙂

RO: Pe scurt, asa am vazut eu Malaga, orasul natal al lui Picasso. In postul urmator o sa va arat si o sa va povestesc in putine cuvinte ce am descoperit in Ronda, Cadiz, Gibraltar si Sevilia. Stay tune! 😉
